Materials:
- 8mm hook
- Bernat Blanket Mist-ical yarn in 2 colors (colors I used are Earthenware (Color A) & Pink Quartz (Color B) 3 skeins of each)
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
- Stitch marker (if needed)
Abbreviations: US terms
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- sl st – slip stitch
- blo – back loop only
Pattern:
Row 1: In color A ch however long you want the length of your blanket to be, making an extra ch at the end. Turn your work and create a HDC in the second ch from your hook, and hdc in each ch across. When you reach the end ch 1 & turn.
Row 2: HDC in each stitch across, reaching the end ch 1 and turn.
Row 3 & 4 repeat HDC all the way across. At the end of row 4 before finishing your last HDC, change to color B, ch 1 and turn.
Row 5: Continue HDC across, ch 1 & turn at the end of each row. Repeat this for 4 rows, at the end of every 4th row change colors.
Tip: Instead of cutting your yarn after each color change, try bringing up the yarn along the side of your work
Continue this pattern until the blanket is your preferred width (remember we are flipping this blanket to make the strips vertical at the end so measure accordingly)

Border:
Row 1: In color A sc in each st across the border of your blanket, making sc, ch 1, sc in each corner. Sl st into the beginning ch of your border to complete first set-up row. Ch 1.
Row 2: Sc into the blo in each st across your border. Sl st into the beginning of your row when you reach the end. Tie off & weave in ends!
Happy crocheting henny xoxo
