Froggin’ Around Free Crochet Beanie Pattern

Materials

Ch 36 turn
In the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in the Blo across (35)
Ch 1 turn
Repeat a sc in blo across each st, continuing to Row 44 (or as many rows needed to fully wrap the beanie around your head)
Ch 1 turn, fold in half, & attach sides together by picking up both loops on each side and sl st together to join your beanie
Tie off and leave a long tail to close top of beanie with your yarn needle
Using the tail, weave in and out of each stitch going around the top of the beanie – Pull tight to close
To close the hole even more, continue to weave around the hole and pull tight
Weave in ends

make a magic ring in Color B, ch 1
make 6 sc in the magic ring, sl st to beginning of row & tie off
Attach color A to the circle & make 2 sc in each st around the row (make an increase in each st around)
Sl st to join, tie off, and leave a tail long enough to attach these circles to the brim of your beanie

Weave in all of your ends except the long tail from the last row of your frog eyes
Fold your beanie right side out and fold the brim as if it is ready to wear
Using a yarn needle, attach the right side of the frog eye to just inside of the brim of your beanie along the bottom of the row
Once you have secured your frog eyes in place, weave in your ends securely, tie off & weave in any remaining ends

Add buttons, safety eyes, etc. to your frog eyes to make them pop!
Colorwork possibilities are endless! You could make a spotted or striped frog beanie for example by changing or adding colors.
Create in any size; can be made to measure simply by adding chains to your beginning chain to make the hat taller, or by making more or less rows to make the hat wider/narrower.
